Question
I don't know if you are a expert on this. So sorry if I take your time. I am 16 now and ever since I was little I wanted to game design. I really don't know were to start and I just need a kick in the butt or a path way to get me started. If you can show me step by step guide on what I need to get accomplished for my dream to become reality it would greatly be appreciated.

Answer
I'm not a game designer either, but I know what it feels like to really want to design video games. It's important to not just play video games, but also read about them, study their mechanics, and understand what makes them successful. Realize that you probably won't start at the top as a game designer, so looking for work as a playtester or programmer. University courses in game design, programming, and other arts (such as filmmaking) would help you get a job as a game designer. I'm afraid I can't give you in-depth advice or set you up with any video game companies, but remember that getting a good job with a video game company isn't as hard as most people think, but becoming a top game designer requires a lot of work.

Perhaps you've read it, but Gamespot also has a very good article on becoming a game designer: http://www.gamespot.com/features/6129276/index.html

Good luck!
