Question Hi, my sega dreamcast resets itself while I'm playing. I've taken the console apart and bent the pins for a better connection to the motherboard but It is still resetting during gameplay. Any suggestions?
Answer Gday Adam,
Well you have applied the first thing I was going to suggest to it which does tend to fix most resetting problems caused by over heating.
But if it is still doing it there are a couple of other things you could try.
Is it doing it on only one or two games? Could be caused by the actual game itself, so I would clean the game or if bad get it buffed re-surfaced.
If it is doing it on all games check and see if the fan is function properly, maybe use a can of compressed air to clean just in case. Check and clean the Lens with cleaning alcohol or a lens cleaning kit. Also check the lens/eye operating track for dust or grime. I have seen occasions where the lens laser worked find just the movement was not fast enough causing the unit to drop back to system menu. Some cleaning to the lens tracks may help this.
If not you might have to replace the power supply and or lens of the unit.
