Console Games (Nintendo, Sony etc.) and Arcade Games/Original NES

Question
My son gave me an origial NES (to replace one that we had many years ago) and I forgot how to hook the unit up to my tv! Thanks!

Answer
Gday Barbara,

There are 2 ways to hook the original NES up to a TV.

On the back of the console there is a white plug which is used for a RF switch.  The RF switch usually plugs directly in to your TV where where the antenna or cable plugs into usually it has a junction box on it where you can plug the antenna or cable on to that.  This way you can play the NES or watch normal TV if needed to without unhooking or rehooking things up.  There is also a switch for channel 3 or 4 this is the channel you have to tune it to to receive the NES signal depending on what you set it to.

The other way is thru AV cables.  On the right hand side (When looking from the front) you will see a Red and Yellow plug.  The Yellow is for Video and the Red is for sound.  (The NES only produces a mono sound.)  Simply hook these up straight to a AV port on your TV then tune to the AV channel.  (Red can be plugged into white on your TV if it is only mono sound)

Hope this helps.
