Question
Do you know how the Wii download sites work? Do you log on with your wii and download directly, or log on w/ your PC and copy games to a disk or card?

You where correct in you first guess you need to hook you Wii up directly to the Internet and download from there. (Of course you need a valid network or wireless network in your house to make it work and buy the appropriate Wii points to activate whatever you wish to download)
