Experience About 12 years of video game experience starting out with the good ole' classics. I later went to Half-Life and Quake, then spending most of my video game life with most action/shooter games. From then I have played many games spanning through most consoles and especially the PC. I also have a huge library of games (I stopped counting around 120 for the PC alone :P )
Organizations I am currently an assistant manager at a GameStop which helps me get closer to games and asses them if anyone needs that particular help. I also do odd jobs for people in my spare time. Kinda like Niko in GTAIV...okay that's a bad example.

Question QUESTION: Killzone 2: Game freezes at homepage when I select multiplayer. Every 5 or so tries, I get through and play the game with no problems but after the first round, while syncing to the next round, the game freezes. The game also freezes during single player mode.
Little Big Planet: Won't even start. I get the Playstation sign in the beginning, then the screen goes black and I can't do anything.
(I only have those 2 games)
Blu-Ray movies/ demos/ downloaded games/ everything else work fine.
When playing a game, PS3 freezes if I ever push the PS button on the center of the controller. But what's different about this is that the console refuses to shut down if I froze it by pushing the PS button. If it froze in a game, I can shut it down safely with the "on/off" button. PS button requires me to shut it off from the back.
ANSWER: Have you tried reinstalling the games?

QUESTION: I uninstalled both games. Little Big Planet is still frozen on a black screen.
Killzone 2: It tells me that I need to update the software and says it will shut down the software and install. The PS3 just restarts, nothing happens, and I'm back to the home page. If I choose "cancel" at the software, the screen goes black and the PS3 freezes.
Answer Is your PS3 still under warranty? (if you got one) Unlike the 360, the PS3 is like a computer operating system, and thus has more serious problems that the user can't fix. You will probably have to ship it to Sony so they can fix it. But first:
1. I'd try to test PS2 games on it if you have any to tell what kind of problem it is.
2. Reinstall/format the ps3 and see if that helps at all.
If these don't do anything then its most likely a hardware issue. And if you don't have a hammer and some spare time you won't be able to fix it :P.
