Answer Gday Quincey,
Battery Life - DSi
Racing Games - PSP
Mild Shooters - PSP
Platform Games - DSi
Adventure Games - DSi
Controls - DSi
Video Playback - PSP
MP3 Playback - PSP
Screen - PSP (almost the same)
Online Support - PSP (Both are fairly crappy)
So overall the PSP wins your criteria.
Also I would lean more towards the PSP simply because you had a DS lite and got rid of it since the DSi is really an upgrade of the DS I feel you may not like it for the same reasons that you got rid of your original DS. Also since you have Sony tech you are failure with Sonys game library and what titles/franchises are available so it will be more and extension of your gaming lifestyle by getting a PSP just portable. I also fell you might get a fair bit of use out of the multimedia capabilities of the PSP considering your age and your asking for MP3 playback, although most people don't tend to maximize all the goodies the PSP has.
The only downside of the PSP is it really not that durable. If you are rough or don't treat it well it will fail. (They don't also take being dropped real well.)
