how do you play with a created team on madden 08 on regular xbox  

Answer
After you've made the team, you can play an exhibition game by pressing the button for 'load team'. It should identify that button on the bottom of the screen.

In Franchise mode, you can replace a team with your created team.

I don't know a lot of details about this game, but hopefully this information helps.
