Console Games (Nintendo, Sony etc.) and Arcade Games - Sega Blaze/Mega Drive 2

Question
Hi

I'm thinking about buying a Sega Megadrive 2 shell and fitting it with the insides of the new Blaze Sega Retro home console- ie rehousing the Blaze console.

Do you think that this is possible, and do you think that original Sega joypads would be compatible with the Blaze hardware?

Many Thanks

Answer
Gday Jay,

The original Sega Joypads will work with the Blaze clone, so you will have no problem there.

I am sure you can retro fit the Blaze inside a Mega Drive 2 shell, you will need to extend the cables running to the AV, Power and controller ports from the Blase.  The power and reset might be a bit tricky, and you would have to wire in a LED.  But I am sure it could be done.

The question would be why?  If I had a Mega Drive 2 sitting around I would be using that over the Blaze.  Sure the Blaze has the sleek black Mega Drive look (It even has the Mega Drive logo on it) sure it feels alittle cheap and nasty so I can understand wanting to hide it in the Shell of a real console.

Hope this helps.
