Console Games (Nintendo, Sony etc.) and Arcade Games - Wii internet

Expert: Chamale - 9/8/2009

Question
I bought my 10 year old son the Wii and he loves Mario Cart. He asked me to set up internet play for him, and I was able to to link the Wii console to my wireless internet connection. Now I am trying to figure out how he can get into a race with strangers. I see the part about registering my console and how I could register his friends consoles, but he weants to be able to play whenever he has the time, and joining a game with others who happen to be online seems like the best way to go. Is this possible to do? How do I help him to get into a race with strangers?

Answer
In multiplayer mode (Nintendo WFC), you should be able to select "Regional" or "Worldwide" mode. These modes will automatically search for players of similar ranking and set up a game. I recommend Regional mode, as there is less lag with closer opponents.

Nintendo's servers sometimes have problems, but I don't know their current condition. Let me know if you need any more help.
