Expert: Octane - 9/10/2009
Question ive had this problem with other ps2 disks but they where scratched so figured it was the disk but my ff7 disks are scratch free and clean it wont read them at all they work on my friends ps2 but not mine. is there any way to get the game to work
Answer Gday Cody,
Sounds like the laser is beginning to go out on your PS2. What I would first do is clean you laser head, depending on which PS2 you have (Slim or Original) involves q-tip alcohol and if an original pulling the system completely to bits. There are also lens cleaning CD available if you do not want to pull you system to pieces.
If this does not help you are looking at either adjusting or replacing the PS2 laser head. (And original can be adjusted while a slim can not) Replacing the laser head will cost your around $25+ for an original and about $10+ for a slim.
Hope this helps
