Console Games (Nintendo, Sony etc.) and Arcade Games/Care of games

Question
It's winter.  I found out that my game hardware and software are damp inside my storage unit.  Would they still work once they are dried?  Games stored more above the ground work.  I'll try it.  Thank you, Octane.

Answer
Gday Nick,

They should work once dried out.  Hopefully you don't have a high salt or minerals content in your area as this may cause some rusting or corrosion on exposed metal.  (Particular cartridge interfaces)  But I would be putting them in a warm dry place for quite some time before turning them on.

The only Cartridges that suffer from moisture in them I have notices are Sega Genesis ones.  If they have a higher then normal moisture in them the game sound tends to buzz.  Usually a few minutes with a hair dryer can have them back to like new.  Most can be completely dunked in water and they will still work.  Most systems are the same.  (Transformers unless completely dry will definitely go out on you if turned on.)

Other than that Air tight containers or ziplock bags being your new game storage choice.
