Dear octave,
           I am a genuine car entusiast so i was wondering if there were any good racing/driving games fo my ps3.

Gday Brian,

Unfortunately you used the word good Racing/Driving Games.  There aren't that many really outstanding Driving games available on the PS3 there are a lost of so-so games IMO but that could be just me.

Burnout Paradise is probably the best Driving game out there (Until the new Gran Turismo comes out this year) there are a few annoying things to it but I really liked the free roaming aspects of it.

I also really liked the Wipeout HD title as well that was fairly fun probably the second best out there and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue just being a for runner to the full release title this year seemed really good.

You have a lot of Need for Speed titles surprisingly the first on released on the PS3 Carbon is probably the best.  For some reason the controls seem to be getting worse on this series as the latest version I played Shift was terrible.  (And I also enjoyed Most Wanted)

If you liked any of the previous Ridge Racers then I would also give Ridge Racer 7 a go.  (If you have never played a Ridge Racer game than stay away for it because you probably will not like it.)

I also liked Grid, Dirt 2 (Far better than the overhyped ATV Vs MX crap), Motorstorm 2 and played F1 Championship which was not a bad Formula One simulator.  

But they are about the only ones I would recommend anyone trying but again there is another Burnout title and Grand Turismo coming out this year which I would get.
