Console Games (Nintendo, Sony etc.) and Arcade Games/Is it my wii or the game?

Question
Hi,

For Christmas I got a brand new wii and I played with the wii sports for a while, when I realized that I could rent games from the city library I jumped at the chance to rent The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess.
So I go home and start playing it right after the first save after the kids wake you up my screen goes white then goes to black; saying Disc Error Please Reefer To Your Wii Manual. I have tried turning off the wii and taking it out/putting it in I did that several times, I tried my Wii sports and that worked. I realized it had ZERO scratches.

What is the problem and what should I do?

Thank You

Answer
Gday Hannah,

I would at a guess say it is the game disk.  (Particularly if it is from a library as you don't know who has done what to it.)

Since you said the disk has no scratches.  Check the disk and see if it has any cloudiness to it or it is not the same shiny color.  Occasionally the plastic the disk is made out of is faulty and causes an error. sometime a professional buff can fix cloudiness.

Check the picture side of the disk for any damage (as the data is actually located on the picture side the shiny side is really all plastic protection.)  Also hold the disk up to the light is there any spots where light is coming thrum, if there is the disk is damaged and data is missing causing the disk not to play.  Unfortunately this can be fixed.

You might just have a bad copy of the disk.  (This does occasionally happen afterall there can't be several million perfect disks out there)

Hope this helps
