Hey Angel
Im writing an article on video game trends. I remember when the only people who bought fantasy video games like final fantasy were considered geeky. But now in today's world we have sports players, cops and teachers who spend hours playing world of war craft and God of war. In other words fantasy games appeal to more than just geeks now. Could you comment on this?...Do you know what occured to make this trend happen??

Haha well I can't really say for sure what caused the trend of fantasy games.

In my opinion this trend started because of the flashy graphics. Ever since graphics have improved and difficulty of games have lowered more and more people have started playing video games. Not only that but the "type" of video games have also lead to more people playing video games. An example of this are the new "Hannah Montanna" games targeted towards young girls. Those who make video games are making them to target specific audiences. Hannah Montanna targets young girls, shooting games target boys. Even adults are targeted by video games with the release of things such as
Wii fit
and Wii sports. Wii fit especially since a lot of adults want to lose weight, they buy the game in hopes of losing weight.
With sports games they target adults specifically adult males because in a general many adult males enjoy sports so when they aren't playing sports they play sports games,
Basically video game trends are started by video game designers who design the games to target an audience according to their specific enjoyments.
