QuestionHello Chamale,
Firstly, thank you for helping me with these questions, I really appreciate it! I started the game over again and I want to beat the Elite Four with only 3 pokemon, here is my team so far.....
(1)Venusaur --- Razor Leaf, Cut, Growth, and Sleep Powder
(2)Fearow --- Drill Peck, Fly, and Steel Wing
************** My Questions *************************
(1)What fourth move would you recommend for my Fearow?
(2)I need a "Water type" that can learn both "Surf" & "Strength" that isn't "Gyrados." The fact that it takes 4X damage from electricity drives me nuts!
(3)Are there any other recommedations you want to add other than the two questions posted above?
Sincerely yours, LG
AnswerHello LG
(1)Teach Fearow Hyper Beam or Return. Hyper Beam is a good move to use when Fearow is almost taken down, as it's the best way to give one last powerful hit before Fearow faints. On the other hand, if you keep your Fearow happy by feeding it potions and keeping it on the team, Return is the next-most powerful Normal-type move. It is even better than Drill Peck. TM15, Hyper Beam, can be purchased in Celadon Department Store. TM27, Return, can be found in Route 12.
(2)Here's a list of Water-types that can learn Surf and Strength in Leafgreen:
Poliwrath
Slowbro
Kingler
Lapras
Vaporeon
Poliwrath, Lapras, or Vaporeon are excellent choices. However, you could teach Strength to Venusaur instead and use whatever Water-type you want.
(3)Cut is a very weak move. I recommend you teach Venusaur something else, such as Earthquake, Giga Drain, or Strength. Sludge Bomb would be an excellent choice, but you can't find the Sludge Bomb TM until after defeating the Elite Four. You receive the Earthquake TM as a reward for defeating Giovanni, and you receive the Giga Drain TM as a reward for defeating Erika.
Sincerely, Chamale
