Experience I've been a gamer for pretty much the last 14/15 years, so I feel I know my fair share about the subject. I spent the early years with Nintendo, the mid years with both Sony and Nintendo and I'm now just enjoying my Xbox 360, so I have experience with all three groups. Question How do I change the language from Japanese to English in Pokemon Fire Red.

I must ask first, do you have a copy of your instruction manual that goes with the game? And if so, does any of it have any english?
If that is the case, your answer lies in there. I would tell you personally but I do not have a copy at hand, so I must apologise.
If not, you may want to play a little trial and error and see if you cant find the option that you need. Once you start up your game, if my pokemon memory serves me correct you usually have three options, one to start, two to load and three for options. Either way it dosent matter.
Start by selecting the first option and seeing what it does, and do through each one till you find the option that changes language. I'm trusting that you know the usual layout for a load screen vs a options screen, and you have enough judgement to know when your about to delete something, so do this at your own risk. But besides one of us learning japanese there isnt much room for help.
You may want to roam Nintendo.com for additional help. Just do a search for the game and work your way from there.
