Question
"Is it possible to hook up a Xbox360 to a directTV receiver. I have a non recordable Direct TV, and I see different input plugs, but I can't figure how to hook up my 360. Not sure if you can"

Answer
Hi Bradley:

After going to the companies website (I dont have Direct TV in my country) to see what this receiver is, from what I had gathered the receiver is similar to the Foxtel Digital receivers we have at home, and you cant connect a 360 with those. You have to use the exterior connections on the TV (Like the AV, Component connections).

I cant be 100% sure without actually looking at a receiver, but 9/10 times its easier to go through the TV than through something else. If unsure, and its 100% imperative that the 360 goes through DirectTV, then I would suggest giving these guys a call. They would know almost certainly if it was possible.

I hope that helps :)

Expertise

I'm moving into answering questions relating to the Xbox 360 and related games. I can still answer questions on previous topics (Gamecube/GBA stuff) but please note I will not be able to help at a full capacity. As always, if I dont know the answer I'll do my best to search for it or point you to the best possible alternative for getting an answer (Updated 31/08/06 and about time too).

Experience

I've been a gamer for pretty much the last 14/15 years, so I feel I know my fair share about the subject. I spent the early years with Nintendo, the mid years with both Sony and Nintendo and I'm now just enjoying my Xbox 360, so I have experience with all three groups. I'm not much of a technical buff, but just like before if I cant answer a technical question personally I'll do my best to search for it or point you out to the next best source (Updated 31/08/06)
