Question
i have a problem that most of the people that own a gameshark have. my gameshark is switched on and all i get is a white screen, now i know the cause: it's that if you turn on cheats and then forget the master code or must be on code , using your gameshark even once this way will wipe it out. i know the  best solution is to have a gameshark sp that works and copy the program back onto the dead gs sp but i don't have a working gssp or even a friend that has one , not only that u can't buy them any more either so what i'm wondering is, if you know or could find out, if there's any other way to get it to work again? i thought i was gonna cry for sure when it died before i even got to use one single cheat!!       please help me!!!

Answer
Hi Joe

I searched for quite a bit, but I couldnt for the life of me find any alternative to fix your problem other flashing the gameshark. It sucks, I know seeing as you really are not in the position to do so... but you may want to try these options and see what comes out of it.

You might want to try speaking to MadCatz directly. I sort of remember that they had set up a means where you can send your gameshark into them and they would flash it for you. I dont know if they still do it, but it could be worth a shot.

The only other thing I can suggest is to try http://forums.gameshark.com/ (pretty much the official gameshark forums) and see if there is anybody near your area that could give you help in flashing it.

Sorry for the time delay, but I wanted to make sure that I had truly researched this one. I get a lot of people asking about this very same problem, so dont worry... Im sure with a bit of looking you'll be able to find someone to help you out.

Hope it all goes well for you.

Expertise

I'm moving into answering questions relating to the Xbox 360 and related games. I can still answer questions on previous topics (Gamecube/GBA stuff) but please note I will not be able to help at a full capacity. As always, if I dont know the answer I'll do my best to search for it or point you to the best possible alternative for getting an answer (Updated 31/08/06 and about time too).

Experience

I've been a gamer for pretty much the last 14/15 years, so I feel I know my fair share about the subject. I spent the early years with Nintendo, the mid years with both Sony and Nintendo and I'm now just enjoying my Xbox 360, so I have experience with all three groups. I'm not much of a technical buff, but just like before if I cant answer a technical question personally I'll do my best to search for it or point you out to the next best source (Updated 31/08/06)
