I have a gameshark sp and I turned on some cheats.  It sai too many cheats are on. some will not be activated.  Press start.  I thought, no big deal.  my game froze and I turned it off.  When I turned it on the game was fine but the gameshark won't work. what do i do?

Answer
Hi Eric:

What I ~think~ you may have done is what is known as "fring your sharkport" and what you'll need to do is reflash it.

Why do I say think? Because I am not 100% entirely sure if this is the problem, mainly because your saying your game works find afterwards whereas with others their games arnt exactly working. So please, only take this as some advice which ~hopefully~ will help. If it dosent... then you know at least at my end, I'll be all outa ideas :)

Anyways, here are the steps you need to follow in reflashing one's gameshark sp. (taken from the MCGS forums, written by fthec) # NOTE: You will need a working MCGS to do this

1) With your GBA/SP turned off insert the Good MCGS Sharkport into it.
2) Take the Bad MCGS Sharkport and insert it into the Good MCGS Sharkport.
3) Take any GBA game and insert it into the Bad MCGS Sharkport.
4) Check to make sure that all the GS Switches are on the on position.
5) After checking to make sure everything is in it's place you can now turn on your GBA/SP.
6) Before the Nintendo logo appears Hold the L, A and Start buttons!
7) When it asks you if you are wanting to copy files onto the Dead MCGS let go all the buttons and answer Yes!
8) Wait till it is done it's thing and turn off your GBA/SP and your done!
9) Enjoy bring back to life your now Good MCGS Sharkport.

I hope this works out for you :) and if it does, be sure not to have more than 5 cheats on at a time.

Expertise

I'm moving into answering questions relating to the Xbox 360 and related games. I can still answer questions on previous topics (Gamecube/GBA stuff) but please note I will not be able to help at a full capacity. As always, if I dont know the answer I'll do my best to search for it or point you to the best possible alternative for getting an answer (Updated 31/08/06 and about time too).

Experience

I've been a gamer for pretty much the last 14/15 years, so I feel I know my fair share about the subject. I spent the early years with Nintendo, the mid years with both Sony and Nintendo and I'm now just enjoying my Xbox 360, so I have experience with all three groups. I'm not much of a technical buff, but just like before if I cant answer a technical question personally I'll do my best to search for it or point you out to the next best source (Updated 31/08/06)
