Question
Around when will sony put more playstation 3's in stores? Are their any counterfeit playstation 3's coming out and if theri are how can you tell the diffrence? What should I look for if I plan on buying a playstation 3 outside department stores?
The Playstation 3 is in constant production, which means they're shipping them out as fast as they can make them. =) Many stores have already gotten in more shipments of them- I know a store local to me got in a shipment last week. However, there is an extremely high demand for this console and lots of people reserved one, so they fly off the shelves as soon as they arrive.
Unfortunately, with every hot item there are people who look to rip-off others with counterfeits and just taking the money without shipping the merchandise. Do not buy a console online unless it comes "factory sealed/in box". Counterfeit consoles will not come in an original Sony box. They also will not have Sony barcodes or serial numbers. If you buy one off Amazon.com, this is your safest bet. If you buy one off of eBay, make sure the person is highly rated with a lot of positive feedback. You may want to go to your local retail store and have them put you on a waiting list- when the console comes in, they will call you.

Ever since I played "Pong" in the early 80's, I've been a video game aficionado. I can answer hardware & games questions about PSP (PlayStation Portable), all PlayStation (1,2,& 3), Wii, Wii Fit, GameCube, Nintendo DS, Nintendo (NES), Super Nintendo, Gameboy/Gameboy Advance, and antiquated systems (ColecoVision, Atari, Sega, etc). I am ESPECIALLY knowledgeable in Square-Enix (formerly SquareSoft) games such as ALL the Final Fantasy games (I can even tell you really obscure things about these games). If I haven't played the game yet I will research it and help you find the answer, renting the game if necessary. I can even answer questions dealing with the consoles themselves (hardware questions). I cannot answer questions about Action Replay. I cannot answer questions about football, basketball, or wrestling sports games. I also have very limited knowledge about Xbox & Xbox 360 games unless they are cross-platform. If it is an independent game that has not been widely published and/or a game only released in some countries, I may not be able to help with it either (sadly!)
