Console Games (Nintendo, Sony etc.) and Arcade Games/ps2

Question
Which consoles are more prone to disk read error, the original or slim. And what are blue ray discs, which consoles plays them better.

Answer
Gday,

The disk read error usually occures when there is problems with the laser or reading head.  Both machines suffer from it.  When the original PS2 was released the intial batch had a lot of errors.

Machanical wise the Slimeline is better then the original because there is no cd draw opening or closing.  There is little chance due to a warped draw getting read errors.  The Slimline is simpler with CD door flipping straight open while the original has a mechanical draw.

Blueray disks are similar to DVD disks exept they hold 5 times more data and are able to produce a true High Definition Piture.  The only Gaming Unit that will play these is the upcoming PS3.

Hope this helps.
