Hi, I just got a super nintendo ( Its great what can I say) but there is a problem. When I hook it up there is no colour, the image is great but it is in black and white. Can you help??
First, try unhooking all of your connections and then plugging them back in- make sure they are all nice and tight and pushed in all the way. A lot of color and other video problems come from the connections not being in as good as they should be.
If that doesn't work, we need to find out if it's the television, the console, or the game.
To see if it's the television, make sure that it shows color on other channels. Try plugging something into the same connection where your console was- like a DVD player. Make sure it will show that connection in color. If it doesn't, the connector on the television is bad.
To see if it's the console, try plugging it into another television. Then try putting in different games. If none of it show in color, it's the console and we can troubleshoot it from there.
To see if it's the game, just try putting in another game. =) Make sure the cartridge is in firmly. If the console plays other games with color, it's just that one console.
Let me know if it's the television, console, or game and we can go from there.

Ever since I played "Pong" in the early 80's, I've been a video game aficionado. I can answer hardware & games questions about PSP (PlayStation Portable), all PlayStation (1,2,& 3), Wii, Wii Fit, GameCube, Nintendo DS, Nintendo (NES), Super Nintendo, Gameboy/Gameboy Advance, and antiquated systems (ColecoVision, Atari, Sega, etc). I am ESPECIALLY knowledgeable in Square-Enix (formerly SquareSoft) games such as ALL the Final Fantasy games (I can even tell you really obscure things about these games). If I haven't played the game yet I will research it and help you find the answer, renting the game if necessary. I can even answer questions dealing with the consoles themselves (hardware questions). I cannot answer questions about Action Replay. I cannot answer questions about football, basketball, or wrestling sports games. I also have very limited knowledge about Xbox & Xbox 360 games unless they are cross-platform. If it is an independent game that has not been widely published and/or a game only released in some countries, I may not be able to help with it either (sadly!)
