Question
Ok, I play on expert on guitar hero and i don't liek to brag but i'm pretty good(ranking 2973 as of right now on leaderboards) but i have a question about the leaderboards. how is that they get such huge scores? I mean on the all songs played the high score is 21 billion, i have 18 million? what's up?

Answer
Hi:

Been busy with uni, so I haven't been able to reply as quickly as I hoped... I'm sure you know how it can be.

I haven't played GHII at all, so I cannot comment on the difficulty of the game or hidden techniques so to speak, so if you were looking for hints in that regards, sorry but I cant help

But from the research I did do, I couldn't find any "readily available" boosting (cheating) techniques for the game, so sorta goes along with my suspicions about it. I think this question you need to look at is this:

You know how scoring works on the game, work out theoretically how much a perfect song would get you, and I mean perfect like a computer playing this game, apply it over all of them and see how close these high scores are. From that you can get a good idea if its boosting or if its because they are just that good.

And I wouldn't worry bout it too much... it happens in a lot of games, I mean 0:06.7 to complete a majority of the marble blast ultra advanced tracks... just one example of many.

Anyway, I apologies that I haven't been able to uncover anything that you don't already know, but thats just how it goes sometimes. Don't let it stop you playing though, you know your scores are legit :)

Expertise

I'm moving into answering questions relating to the Xbox 360 and related games. I can still answer questions on previous topics (Gamecube/GBA stuff) but please note I will not be able to help at a full capacity. As always, if I dont know the answer I'll do my best to search for it or point you to the best possible alternative for getting an answer (Updated 31/08/06 and about time too).

Experience

I've been a gamer for pretty much the last 14/15 years, so I feel I know my fair share about the subject. I spent the early years with Nintendo, the mid years with both Sony and Nintendo and I'm now just enjoying my Xbox 360, so I have experience with all three groups. I'm not much of a technical buff, but just like before if I cant answer a technical question personally I'll do my best to search for it or point you out to the next best source (Updated 31/08/06)
