Construction & Contractors/floor load

Question
I am wanting to put a hot tub on a pressure treated wood deck.  The joists are 2x10x12' 16"oc with 5/4x6 flooring.  I have figured the tub will require support of 92-95psf.  Do I need to reinforce the deck?

Answer
JD,
Most decks are designed to carry 100 psf or more. Personally I would reinforce the area of the tub as well as the posts supporting the deck. The other thing to consider is how the deck is attached to the house. I am in favor of supporting deck with posts at the attachment point also as this is a typical weak point,
Hope this helps.
