Dear Nasir,

without digital copy, the Engineer may not be able to control/monitor the changes made by the contractor in subsequent updates. this further complicates the issue during the EOT and associated cost claims evaluation. Soft wears do provide details of changes the contractor make during updating that helps to establish the reason-ability of the changes, otherwise he may not be able to safe guard the Employer, his one of the prime responsibility. Therefore, submission of digital copy is necessary.
