Question
Dear Mr. Ghadban,

I would like to ask you whether FIDIC Conditions of Contract allow the cascade Sub-contracting.

Thank you.
Kind regards,

Enrico Odorisio

Answer
Dear Enrico
It is quite normal for  the main Contractor to subcontract the MEP works then the MEP subcontractor may subcontract Electrical works who might subcontract It and BMS works. FIDIC does not forbid such cascade contracting but it requires that all Subcontractors to be Approved by the Engineer.
