Container Gardens/Star Pine

Question
I have a Star Pine in a container. It is outgrowing the mud room that it is in. Will it serve out side? I live in Springerville' AZ. we do get snow.

Answer
Hi Georgia, pines like an acid soil base, so I would test the soil where you want to plant it, to make sure the soil has a 5.0 or lower ph, this way you star pine will thrive (snow isn't a big deal), take a sample of the soil from the area you want to plant it to your local "Cooperative Extension Service" and they will provide you with the needed information...regards Nick
