Question
I HAVE REALLY ROCKY LAND AND WOULD LIKE TO GROW A GARDEN.
IF I BUILT A 6' X 20' BOX AND PLANTED THE GARDEN IN IT WOULD IT WORK AS WELL AS ONE IN THE GROUND?  I WANT TO AVOID THE MISERY OF TRYING TO REMOVE AN UNLIMITED AMOUNT OF BOULDERS. THANKS

Answer
I don't blame you, and the answer is absolutely! put a raised garden in, about 12 inches deep by the dimensions you set in the question; fill it with a mixture of potting soil, humus and top toil and then put weed paper down, cut x's in the weed paper and plant your plants of choice, then mulch over....bingo, done!
