Question
This is the beginning of tomato growing season here. My main question is the potting mixture I should use to keep the moisture in. Also to know how much water to give.  Last year they seemed to dry out fast but it turned out i overwatered most of them...Thanks

Answer
The key to success with tomatoes in containers, is keeping the soil evenly moist without quick drying, for when it dries fast and has to be rewartered constantly , it leaches all the calcium out of the soil which leads to "blossom end rot". use Miracle grow moisture control soil and mulch the top heavily, check the drainage holes daily and make sure they remain damp, you want the soil damp, not wet! but constant, with no drying out.
