Question I have found a print by the The Tabor Art Co named At Eventide dated 1893. I am thinking of selling it so I want to know a little more about this work. It is a religious print and there is a young girl dressed up in a what seams to be a Catholic white gown with a head covering. She is holding a crucifix. I have searched the internet and I could not come up with anything. When I say your website I thought that I would run this by you. Thank you for your attention to this matter
Answer Well, I,too, have done a web search, and I have found a wide range of prices for Tabor posters. Yours is quite old. I don't remember when the Tabor Art Company began making posters and prints. At some time in their history they joined forces with another company and became the Tabor-Prang Company.
I have found some Tabor-Prang prints for sale on E-Bay. You might watch these to see the selling prices. But I have two suggestions for you. You can go to Instappraisal web page. I think you can submit your item for a free appraisal. I suspect there are many members of that group that have a great knowledge of Tabor prints. Here is the link to their site:
The other suggestion will give you some idea of recent prices on auction for Tabor prints. However, there is a membership fee ($40 for a year). But if you pay the fee, you will be able to search their archives for prices on Tabor prints. Here is the link to their site:
By the way, I have had many requests for information about Tabor-Prang prints. I recall a web site that had many of them for sale. The prices were quite low...like $30 to $50. But I cannot find that site tonight for some reason. If I were you, I would try to find really scour the web for Tabor-Prang Art Company.
