Question Hi. I'm desperate to remember the name of an artist I used to study at college and who's art I very much admire. The drawings are in charcoal and rather basic, just simple outlines. The subject matter is often a woman lounging on a sofa or a chair, perhaps with a large plant. The way she's posed, she may appear bored or perhaps just super relaxed. The model is often dressed in a short dress reminiscent of the 60's. I don't think the drawings (or mixed media) had original titles. I think the artist is either North American or French. I'm just getting back into drawing after a few years traveling and studying, and this artist was in large part responsible for my artistic motivation. If you can help me figure it out, I would be ecstatic beyond words. I would gladly bake you a cake, just send me an address :)
Here's hoping,
Anna
Answer You are asking a question that can have a thousand answers. However, I am willing to work with you on this to see what we can find.
I do need more information.
For what it is worth, a name leaped out of my memory: my aging brain brings the name to the tip of my tongue, but no further. I have sent an e-mail to a friend that might jog my memory.
The follow-up process is a bit clumsy for the exploration we are about to do. So, I suggest that you send me an e-mail, and I will respond to you with the name that comes to mind....if my friend can help me.
Under any circumstances, we can go over some names and see what happens.
My e-mail is bmahmoud@niu.edu
This will be a bit detective work..and we shall see where it ends up.
And, I do not need a cake. Being of help is its own reward.
