Question
I am a registered nurse with a desire to start a certified nurse assistant school. I do no know where or how to get started. Can you give some advice as to how to get started, what is required, and what is involved in the process?
Thank you,
Tyra

Answer
Hello Tyra,

Each state has it own method of obtaining a license. You will need to contact your state's licensing board, generally through the Secretary of State's office. There should be a Professional Licensing Boards Division. In addition, your state's Board of Nursing can also provide information. You may have to provide your own certifications and qualifications to obtain information. I also suggest that you retain a lawyer as there will be state requirements as well as corporation or LLC creation will be necessary.

Good luck in your endeavor!
Cindy Wolfe
