Question
Hello Cynthia Wolfe,

My name is Hector I'm 27 male Looking to get into a culinary school in my area but most are very expensive and I don't know if I can go through it cause of my ADD. Do you know of any Gov. help? Or any but that could help me?

Hope you can help me or direct me to some that might.

Thank you for your time,

Hector

Answer
Hello Hector,

Thanks for asking a question. Some culinary schools are accredited and some are not. If you choose an accredited school, you may be eligible for assistance through grants and loans by the federal government. Research culinary schools, and then fill out the FAFSA, using this website: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov

The school you choose may also have some financial aid options. Check out their website and/or call them. If you have not seen a doctor for your ADD, do that soon as medication may improve your quality of life and make achieving a degree a greater possibility.

Education is expensive - not just culinary schools! It is not unusual for students to graduate with loan debt accumulated during their studies. Don't forget to look around for scholarships, too!

Good luck with your studies,
Cindy Wolfe
