Continuing/Adult Education - Spanish

Question
Hi there:

Are you aware of any good software or online program that I can purchase that will help me learn Spanish 101 & 102 easily?  I'd like to either take the CLEP exam for college credit or attend an accredited online program that will give me college credit.

Thank you for your time!

Answer
Hi Tom,

There are a number of software titles to help you learn Spanish. It is possible to learn Spanish on your own and CLEP the requirement in some states...some schools do not accept CLEP credit for the language requirement. I suggest that you confirm which credits your school will accept before you pay for the tests.

You may be familiar with language software like Rosetta Stone, TeLL Me More, Visual Link, and Power Glide. These do not give college credit, they simply train you to speak the language.

I am not personally familiar with any Spanish online programs, but I did a search and found two: Instituto de la Lengua Magallanes in Madrid, Spain and Linguweb which uses Spanish tutors.

Have you checked with your local colleges? Perhaps they have a distance learning program.

Good luck with your search, and your college career!
Regards,
Cindy Wolfe
