Question
I graduated in June 2009. I went to a school out of my district and now my school is telling me to wait for my diploma to come in the mail. Also I must wait for my Division of Vocational Rehabilation Services worker to send me a letter of approval so they can help me get in a vocational school or to get into a college. A friend of mine suggested that I sign up for Essex County College because I may be qualified for financial aid. So what should I do?

Answer
Hi Kenneth,
I would not worry about the piece of paper coming in the mail. Getting into a vocational school or any other college for that matter, will request your transcripts rather than getting the paper from you. Apply for all the financial aid you can get your hands on. Apply for every grant they have, and consider student loans only if your trade makes enough money to repay the loans.
Sounds like you have a disability? I would use that to pay for school. You will be surprised how much they come up with once they learn you are disabled.
Good Luck, and let me know
Mike
