Question
QUESTION: What if you drink out of a cup that someone with AIDS drunk out of but it was washed before you drunk out of it?
You didn't drink out of until weeks after the person with AIDS drunk out of it.Does this mean that you have AIDS too then?

ANSWER: Hi Corrina,

No, you cannot get AIDs by drinking from the same cup as someone with AIDS. AIDS is transmitted through blood, sexual fluids, or breast milk: unprotected sex, sharing needles while injecting drugs, blood transfusions (although extremely rare in the US now due to screening), and from a mother to her child during pregnancy or breastfeeding. AIDs is not transmitted through general contact.

I hope this helps. If oyu have further questions let me know.

QUESTION: How long does it take for blood to dry?

Answer
Hi Corrina,

By blood contact, I mean blood to blood contact (needles, transfusions,  having blood from an AIDs infected person enter a cut, usually during unprotected sex). This is not related to drinking out of someone else's cup.

I hope this helps. If you have further questions let me know.
