Question
Hi I am 40 years old lady. I had put Marina coil a year ago. Ever since i got it inserted, i am not having my perids. I get little spotting sometimes. I have been putting on weight (though not much just a kg and half only) but this is despite of my workouts, my yoga,my slimming treatment. Nothing seem to work. I have beocme pale too. I am more worrie about not getting my monthly periods. All this is making me nervous. It is mandatory for women to have periods to remain healthy and keep the weight under check. Am i reaching mannopuase so soon because of this coil ? should i get it removed. I feel sleepy too most times. Though no change in my sex drive. Kindly advise if i shoul continue with this coil or get it removed? if i get it removed ,m the what is the other alternative ? surgery (tube tie) or anything else ?

Answer
Hi Neelu,

You are not the first woman to complain of some of these feelings and side effects from the Merina IUD. I am enclosing some other comments about it that I found and I think you will find this article helpful..
I do not recommend this at all and usually advise Natural methods. Are you married and do you need to have a birth control method? It is possible that you could have menopausal symptoms but I would advise to have it taken out. However, I just want to let you know that I am not a medical doctor and you should consult with your personal physician. Please email me at DWooley97@yahoo.com and tell me what happens. I am really interested. Read the article below.
Sincerely,
Diane W.
