Contraception and VD/Depo-Provera : Will My Period Ever Come Back?

Question
Dear Diane,

I'm a bit worried - I got my first and ONLY shot of Depo-Provera in October of 2007, it's been almost a year now and I still haven't gotten my Period.

Is this normal? Will my Period ever come back?

Worried,
Valentina

Answer
Hello Valentina,

Yes, this sounds like it could be a problem. Have you consulted with your doctor? I don't think it would be "normal" not to have a period for so long. I think you should get a checkup and see what a doctor says. How old are you? Write me at DWooley97@yahoo.com and we can talk privately about what is going on. Put allexperts in the subject line of your email.

Sincerely,
Diane W.
