Question hello, i have been taking the pill regularly for about four months now. my boyfriend and i had sex off and on for about three days when he came to visit and he came inside me every time. the day he left i did not take my birth control and i did not take it any day after. my period should have come but a few days went by and nothing. then i started bleeding, although it was not as heavy as my normal period and i barely cramped at all. i have taken two pregnancy tests both said negative about four and five days after he left. could i be pregnant? is it too early to tell? should i test again? i hope you can help. thanks.
Answer Dear Ashley,
Sorry for my late reply, but I have been unwell and unable to get to my computer earlier.
Sperm can live five to seven days inside a woman's body, thus if you missed two pills within five to seven days of having unprotected sex there is a chance you could become pregnant. However, because you did have a bleed and a negative pregnancy test there is a chance you are not pregnant. The best time to take a home pregnancy test is 7 to 10 days after your expected period.
What I would highly recommend is that you go to a doctor and get them to do a pregnancy test. This should give you a final answer and put your mind at ease.
