Question
I had the marena inserted 3 years ago and went to the dr about skin problems she perscribed ginette pills for my skin just want to find out if the 2 will not counter each other out?? I already have 2 kids and am not planning to have another. Please can you give me some advice.

Answer
Anna-Marie,

Thanks for your question. I don't usually recommend the mirena IUD or any kind of hormonal birth control methods. I feel that these kind of hormonal methods can cause health side effects and risks.

I wonder why your doctor would prescribe the pills for your skin when you already have hormones going into your body from the mirena. Could you consider a non-hormonal method such as Natural Family Planning and/or condoms. What happens to your skin if you don't take the ginette pills?

Please email me at DWooley97@aol.com and let me know what you think and any updates.
