Contraception and VD/MIrena causing Acne?

Question
Hello,
I have had my Mirena IUD in for 3 1/2 years. I noticed that when I had it inserted that I begin to get Acne. This was not normal for me because I would usually only get a bump here and there and now my face is so scarred and damaged from Acne. I am wanting to know if the Mirena could be causing these issues. I am also wanting to know what would be the best method for me to try as far as contraception. I used to use the VCF film and it worked well.

Answer
Hi Nikki,

Thanks for your question. Yes, there are side effects and health risks that can happen because of hormonal birth control methods. One could be acne. I have read articles online about women talking about acne and other problems. Is it possible to have the Mirena removed?
Let me know what you think and if you email me we can talk more about options. Email me at DWooley97@aol.com and hope to hear from you soon.
