Question
i have inserted the marina 3 years ago and the last few months i felt that the coil was longer than it use to be, does it mean the marina moved? is it save to still have intercourse, can i fall pregnant with the marina??

Answer
Monique,

Yes, you could get pregnant. Any kind of birth control, including the Mirena IUD, is not 100% safe in preventing pregnancy. If the coil feels like it is not correct, you should check with your doctor. Are you supposed to leave it in that long without a checkup. I just don't know for sure. I don't recommend any kind of hormonal birth control because of possible side effects. Have you had any side effects that you know of? Anyway, let me know what you find out about it feeling different. You can email me privately at DWooley97@aol.com and hope to hear from you soon.
