Question I was on birth control pills for 4yrs. My husband and I decided we wanted to start trying to conceive so after my last period (Jan. 10) I didn't start my new pack of pills. Today is the day I would be due for my period (if on the pills),but I know your cycle can get messed up after stopping. So far I have not gotten my period, but I've been bloated and having cramps since last Friday (2/2). Is this normal? I dont really remeber what my periods were like before the pill, I know they weren't regular but I wasn't sexually active so I didn't pay much mind to them. Is this normal to have bloating and cramping around the time Im due for my period and just not get it? My husband and I have used condoms all month as well. It feels like its coming but Im just not bleeding, but I am getting frustrated of feeling bloated every day.
How are periods normally once stopping birth control?
Thank You.
Answer Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for your question. I'm not a medical professional so I would suggest you checking with your own personal physician. Yes, you are right about getting your cycle back to normal. It could take a few months or you could get pregnant right away. I'm trying to remember back to when I got pregnant with my daughter. I wasn't off the pill long before I got pregnant. I don't recommend the pill now since I have found out more about the risks and side effects. Yes, you could feel bloated and have cramping but not have your period. It's not possible for me to diagnose you through an email. I understand it must be frustrating so please let me know what happens. I hope you can check with your doctor. You can email me at DWooley97@yahoo.com
Thanks.
