I AM 46 YEARS OLD AND HAVE AN IUD INSERTED.  I HAVE NOT HAD MY PERIOD FOR SIX MONTHS. IS THIS NORMAL OR IS THIS SOMETHING I HAVE TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT.

Thanks for your question. I'm not a medical professional but I did some research to answer your question. I did read where women you have the Mirena IUD may not have a period.
Is this the one you have? It also lists a lot of side effects for the IUD so I would not recommend it.
abnormal pap smear, heart disease, anemia, pelvic infection, infertility, weight gain, headaches, increased blood pressure, acne, depression and decrease in sex drive. Do you have to use birth control right now? I would like you to email me at DWooley97@yahoo.com and we can talk more about this.

i have the ParaGard iud it was inserted in me four years ago. at first i had heavy menstrual periods, but in the last six months i havent gotten it.
