Cooking Meat/boar smoked ham

Question
I have a 5 lb. smoked boar ham.  I would like to cook it in the crock pot.  Do you have any recipes for this?

Answer
Vickie:

I don't have any recipes for a crock pot ham.  However, you might try this.  Since you have to use liquid in the pot, use unfiltered apple juice.  About half way through the cooking or at the beginning, add some apple slices and pear slices.  when the ham is done, take out the majority of the juice if it hasn't reduced, and simmer it on the stove to thicken. Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper and even a bit of cinnamon or allspice.  Then serve the fruit and thickened apple juice sauce over the ham.

Another variation would be to use pineapple juice and pineapple chunks or a can of fruit cocktail.

Oranges and rasins work too. Use orange juice.

Peaches and red peppers is another alternative. Use peach juice and the peppers are for color.  A bit of cayenne or lousianne hot sauce will add some zip.
