Cooking Meat - grilling pork tenderloin

Expert: Enrique Torres - 9/19/2009

Question
I need to know the cooking temperature for a pork tenderloin on the grill, I know it is indirect heat but how many minutes per pound?  Thanks.

Answer
Kristin:
The recommended temp. is 230-260 F.
The cooking time depends on:
a. Tenderloin's thick: The more thick, the more time needed.
b.    "       weight: The more heavy the more time needed.
c.    "       form: The more plane the less time needed.
d.    "       Size: The more big, the more time needed.

For a "typical" pork tenderloin it could take about 12-25 minutes per lb. But please, check the cooking term you want each 5 minutes to find the right time.

Good luck,
Enrique
