Hi Teri
I'm getting married late summer early fall in a relatives yard. We were considering a menu that consists of bbq foods to help keep costs down. Question is how much are we looking at for guests between 70-80 people? We also have about 10 vegetarians, including ourselves, attending and we plan on cooking all the food ourselves. Thanks much.
I can't tell you what this will cost without knowing what you are going to BBQ. Baby back ribs are very expensive, chicken isn't. I'd go with BBQ chicken for the vegetarians who will eat chicken in most cases. You will need 20 4 pound chicken (which will be about $80 or so) for your guests. Precook them in the oven or boil until they are JUST cooked (not raw but not well-done either but cooked through) and then take them to the grill and finish them on the grill while basting with BBQ sauce (buy cheap sauce--it won't matter) and then serve--it will be delicious. I always do BBQ chicken this way for my summer parties--delicious!
