Question
How many pieces of chicken breast, legs and thighs for a plan serving of 130 people(allowing some extra pieces)? This # includes around 25 kids and about 75 adults. Will also have rice n' gravy, white new potatoes, green beans, corn, blackeye peas, salad, cornbread and dessert.Small church...big eaters and big on fellowship.

Figure 1 3-pound cooked weight chicken for every 4 people and you will have plenty.  Here's a hint--serve the dark pieces first, make them ASK for white meat!  Whole chickens are a great buy, but whole turkeys are even better--figure 1 pound of turkey (on the hoof so to speak) and you'll have PLENTY.  5 25-pound turkeys will serve everyone and it's just as easy to roast a turkey as a chicken!
