Question
I'm not sure if this question would be in this category but...I would like to play movie trailers on the  TV screen at our retail venues. Do I need to get permission from the movie distributors? There are many websites that have access to new trailers which I can download and play. Who do I contact to get permission?

Answer
Dear Tracy,

It'd be my guess that it's best to contact the movie production companies as they are the ones in charge of distribution. Another place to check is at the US Copyright Office (www.copyright.gov) and check to see who is the copyright owner for each of the films. Once you have that info, contact them for permission.

Hope that helps! Best of luck to you in all your ventures!

Warmest regards,
Shannon Moore
