Question
Hello Mr. Morgan.

I've recently heard, that in wishing to protect one's copyrightable material, one new and surefire way to do it and which is more legally potent than the old "self-addressed envelope" method, is to send an email to oneself, containing the material.

Got any comments on that?

regards,
Dan O'Hanlon

Answer
I put this in the same catagory as the "envelope to oneself" approach....an urban myth.

I would suggest not relying on it until it is accepted by the courts.

Meanwhile, it only costs $20 to register it properly, and Nolo Press of Berkely, California has published texts on how to do that.

Best wishes on  your projects.
